Los Lobos Hostel, Grand Cenote, and Town of Tulum
Monday morning at Los Lobos Hostel

Mary eating on the patio. We were packing up the food we had stored in the shared frig.

Los Lobos Hostel. Everything is outdoors here. Even the lobby

These 2 pictures could have been pasted together. This is where the owner/manager lives apparently.

The wall safe in our room. Very creative I thought. The room itself wasn’t large enough to get a picture of.

The sign on the toilet reminds us that in the Yucatan Peninusla,
as in many countries,
the sewage treatment systems are not designed to manage toilet paper residue.

That’s Mary going down the steps into the hole.

In the water under the tunnel; in the other direction was
a large cavern with stalactites and pillars.

Blue water over white sand.

Through the 100-foot tunnel to the adjacent (and rather different) cenote.
See the legs?
We did not take the camera into the water;
this was shot from the dock, with the telephoto lense.

This one has a sandy beach, but not much water.

Joe went up onto the rim to take these 2 pictures.

Back in the larger cenote; Joe on one of three dock areas here.

Crowds are growing. (We were the only people here at 8:15 this morning; it is now 9:30.)
↓
↓
Scuba folk arrived for deep exploration of some scary places here.

Monday morning on the road through Tulum, the town.
↓
Another very common set of signs requesting you respect the speed limit
(40k/h) and diminish your velocity.
The tiny specks of light across the roadway are the speed nubs
reflecting the morning light.

Here’s a close up. They don’t look bad, but you soon learn to slow way down.

Tulum ends abruptly. This is the open road immediately south of town.
